Anonymous: Hey, do you know anyone who's had to come out to a parent who's had negative experiences with transpeople? My dad is still recovering from meeting his college buddy Jim, 20 years later as Janet, and I'm not sure how I can delicately break my trans status to him. I know that there's no such thing as "the right moment," but it's still a concern.
You know, I have not heard of anyone in a similar situation.
I would think that the shock and his negative (?) reaction to seeing Janet may make him less receptive to the idea of you being trans, but it also at least has him thinking about gender-variance.
So maybe it’s not such a bad moment after all?
