Well, I was just short of 6 weeks post-op when I needed to move all my boxes. So although my weight restrictions (i.e. don’t pick up anything more than 10 pounds) had been lifted, it would not have been well advised to pick up my boxes, some of which must have weighed 60+ pounds (maybe?). Also, because I have this healing open wound on the right side of my chest, I am not supposed to flex my right pec at all if possible, so lifting my boxes was totally out of the question.
A buddy of mine volunteered to help me move, which was brutal for him - LOTS of HEAVY boxes down and then up steep and narrow stairs in 90+ degree heat. Man, I owe him so much.
But unpacking has been tons of fun, because I can just take my shirt off when I get hot (does unpacking make anyone else sweat a lot?)
