Anonymous: Hey Sabastian. I have a faab friend who is still living as a female. She [her pronoun choice] isn't considering transitioning yet, but she also mentioned that she doesn't think she'll be comfortable living a man. I'm worried because I think the dysphoria is really getting to her. I have a feeling she might be gender queer, but when I asked her what she thought about that, she said that living between genders would be far more dangerous. I want to support her, but I'm just not sure what to do.

Someone struggling deeply with gender dysphoria, particularly someone who is still exploring their identity and thus perhaps lacking a community or solid footing of their own, should really (in my opinion) be in therapy. The best way to help your friend is to first of all support her in whatever direction this leads (you seem to be on top of that) and second to help her get counseling that will be nonjudgmental and will not be focused on identifying her as trans or not trans or genderqueer etc, but will just be a safe place where she can learn to cope with the dysphoria and explore all the caveats of who she is.
